Yev Kassem

Yev Kassem is the solo moniker of Newcastle musician Noah Church. Having built a reputation in the local scene with his hard-hitting rock band dave, Noah’s solo work showcases a delicate and vulnerable side to his song writing. Although having played under the Yev Kassem name for just over a year, Noah has been gigging as a solo musician since his early teens, where he would play at school assemblies, covering the likes of Ben Kweller and City and Color. After completing high school and cutting his teeth in the local scene with dave, Noah released his first solo effort, titled ‘Everything I do just makes it easy to forget and when I wake up in the morning I just get back into bed,’ in February 2017. The five track EP oozes with a lo-fi, indie vibe, while showcasing Noah’s innate knack for penning catchy hooks. Tracks like ‘Back To You’, ‘Eggsecutor’ and ‘Where Are You Gonna Be?’ will be stuck in your head for days and have you singing along for days. In May, Noah followed up his EP with the stand-alone single, Stan the Fan, a musical interpretation of a Michael Leunig poem of the same name. Work is currently underway for a second effort, which Noah hopes to release by end of 2018.
